Magical Christmas Presents

Postby MagicIain » Dec 27th, '04, 11:47

So, it's the obvious question to ask, but who got what magic tricks for Christmas from their better halves, families, friends etc?

I got no magic whatsoever - my family steers clear in case they get the 'wrong' thing or something I've already got.

Anyone luckier than me?

Simple answer is to buy it yourself :)

I bought the Paul Daniels course on "Making money with magic"

Also Symbology and a few others that escape me right now.

Unless you count the bottle of 'Isle of Jura' which causes all sorts of strange things to happen...

Green Decks - jokes around drunk cards turning green because they feel sick and colour changing to the green deck?

Halloween - goblin's favourite decks are green like them?

Russian Roulette - audience must select the green backed card from a deck of reds or suffer a penalty - lots of scope for amusement there - could be introduced with tacky rhymes like:

"Green is clean, red is dead
You best be careful or you'll lose your head!"

Scope for switching red and green with palms etc.

Don't know if they above helps at all.

chrismyatt82, what do you think of stealth as opposed to thought transmiter?

Jon - I got the Royal Road to Card Magic last year - fantastic book - if not the easiest to follow.

This year I got sheets...no not magical ones just sheets...oddly enough tomorrow I'm off to return them (I can't think why...) and just maybe something more magical will be bought to replace them!

I got the props for a new trick I'm working on. At least, I think it's new. I haven't seen it mentioned here . :)

It involves making the contents of a whisky bottle disappear (man, it takes some practice  ).

Any ideas what I should call this trick?

I got both the derren brown books. Both very interesting. THey make you rethink your entire routines, and put a bit more thought into your magic. My routines get a much bigger reaction now.
