as most of you know, I live in spain and last week, rodney piper, Jonathan JJ Jenkins and myself all drove up to barcelona to see juan tamariz perform his live show.
the first part of the show was all cabaret effects such as the rising cards, cut and restored rope. the first half was approx 1 hour and although all in spanish, very enjoyable (My Spanish is hardley the best).
the second half opened with a small table on stage and a projector screen set up next to it. Juan started with an egg bag routine and this set him up to use the 2 volunteers for the close up card session.
what can I say, this was the real highlight of the show, Juan Tamariz at his best, he started nice and easy with some nice card revelations and finished with his version of the ultimate triumph. this ended the show, but the audience soon cheered and Juan returned to perofrm his classic 4 blue card trick.
after the show Juan met all the audience and was more than happy to sign cards, books and many other things including a 50 euro note. He is a true gentleman and when he spoke to me, asked in perfect english if I had understood the show and enjoyed it.
for me it was nice to watch the way the audience responded to Juan and its very obvious just what a national star he is here.
if you are ever in spain and get the oppertunity to watch this show my only advice would be do it.
all the best
