New Registrations

Postby Mandrake » Sep 9th, '12, 21:45

Probably of no interest to the existing members but worth mentioning in case any friends or acquaintances wish to register, we're trying a slight change to the procedures and, as a result, registration won't always be possible 24/7 as it has been up to now. Usual reasons apply, eejit spammers registering just to advertise their tatty and sometimes despicable products/services.

The facility for new registrations is now turned off and will be back in action on December 26th - the Mods need a rest from all those spammers!

 I still say there needs to be an ugly bug that can be sent back to those despicable spammers. But nothing's sacred these days. . .

 Merry Christmas

To give the Modsters a bit of a rest from having to read, disapprove and delete crud etc instead of tucking into Seasonal Scrummies and drinkie-poos, the New Registration feature is now turned off until late 26th December - or possibly 27th if I don't sober up in time... :?

The flood of spammers seems to have increased lately, something like 150 spurious registrations each day. For this reason the 'seasonal activity' of turning registrations off will happen again this year. 8)

In my book they're the lowest of the low, peddling their very dubious products and services and assuming we're thick enough to be taken in by their 'offers!

I don't know, you can get some good deals. I just ordered a bottle of Chanel and a pair of Jimmy Choos for only $20! Mr Wang promised me that they're all genuine and I'm sure that he's as trustworthy as the Nigerian who's going to wire me the $1,00,000 that my granddad deposited for me all those years ago. ;)

Would that be the one who requires a $1,000 admin fee up-front to secure release of the funds? :D

Here is one of my very favourite iffy products! I know quite a few people who sell them too! And iffy or not I dare say magicians could learn a lot about timing, showmanship and audience engagement from this video:
