UK copper/silver coin or similar

Postby Mr Grumpy » Sep 14th, '12, 16:57

Hello all!

I own a Tango coin called "Copper and Silver Coin". One side looks like a US half dollar, the other side an old English penny.

I need to purchase a similar coin, but one side must be a current UK coin. For example, it could be a current UK 10p or 2p coin on one side. I'm not too bothered about what the other side looks like but ideally it will contrast visually.

Does anyone know of anything suitable currently available?

Thank you!

Laurence

Funnily enough I just ordered something from them, which won't ship till Monday. I should be able to add this to the order.

Presumably you get TWO coins, each 10p on one side, 2p on the other side?

Maybe it's just me but I really cant stand the look of those 'chinese coins' which are basically a brass washer with two characters etched on.
They just look cheap, which is crazy because they're not.

true but at least there a big contrast to the 50p, its so hard to get a good looking chinese copper / silver especialy in uk format.
on a personal note there is a certain gimmick you can get for the clone coin that will give you two chinese copper silvers, they can be erm adjusted for two pound coins possibley for 10p /2ps but not tried.

True. I don't like handling, or asking people to handle, cheaply made, tacky-looking props. The fact that, as in this case, they do have some kind of value, doesn't change matters.

Obviously this is all a matter of personal taste.

I have to say, I bought the one on emagictricks and it is just DREADFUL. It's just a 10p with the Queen's Head side dyed (badly; it rubs off) a reddish colour (not even the correct colour).

The 50p flipper coin I bought from them is dreadful too.

I should have sent them back but I was so annoyed by them I just gave them to someone.

They shouldn't sell me this rubbish. I've bought a lot of stuff from them in the past.

let it be known that i don't endorse there products just pointing out that there the only ones with an oriental copper x silver, I prefer jbtv for coinage especialy liberty halfs.
on a side note they are now doing oriental express, unfortunatly they use a certain type of chinese coin that will be difficult to get hold of for making up sets for other tricks. :x

Can you tell me a little more about this please?
