I like all the effects on the DVD but Card Memory in particular is incredible. I've not performed it yet as it will take a fair bit of practice before I'm confident enough. It's brilliant. Let us know what you think when you've had a chance to watch it.

Bob Cassidy Mental Miracles DVD with Chronologue

Postby Waldorfcartoons » Jun 18th, '08, 23:49

Yes, it's a cracker - and I agree with you about 'card memory'; that's an awesome piece of magic (but it will need a lot of practise and confidence). I like the name/place trick too. Chronologue is very good and clear but it is limited to a single performance - i.e. not 'strolling' (although it could be with a lot of preparation). The Gordon diary is a better 'stroller' - although you need to do some card stuff with it. Despite all that, the Cassidy DVD is a very good buy. By the way, how close is Chronologue to 'birthday detector'? same principle?

Birthday Detector looks good, but it's a bit pricey for my wallet. Besides, with the reactions I've been getting with Chronologue, I think it's the only diary effect I need for the time being.

Awakening an old thread!

I got this a few days OK, not the pre-made version but the one using the description on the Mental Miracles DVD. So I had to make up "the diary" (ahem!) myself. Must have taken about three hours - I did it on a long train journey to help pass the time. Only made one mistake and luckily was able to correct it with too much problem. And the time was worth - excellent reactions so far! I thought there was an element that would be spotted by an observant punter, but no problems so far. Great stuff!

Just wondering weather its worth getting the version on DVD or the marketed props? I'm not concerned about the other effects on the DVD. Does the prop come with enhanced handling etc to justify the huge price tag (£45).
I've heard they differ...how?
Thanks for the help!

Cheers

Lol I had to make it myself too (I also use the Mental Miracles version)! Not the greatest thing to do

And I thought of that element you mentioned too, but like you, I also never had a problem with it.

I came across this too on the dvd of Bob Cassidy. A couple of hours work and you're set. It's really worth the effort you put in to it.

I read somewhere in this thread that someone uses a jumbo version ?
So a jumbo diary ? :D

I've just been doing a bit of research and I think that this is the same effect as appears in one of Bob's other ebooks, but under the name of The Telepathic Diary?...the handling seems to be cleaner from what I've read.
It can be found here if you haven't already got a copy:

nice, that would be perfect for my stage performances. Now I just have to find a way to make this jumbo thing work.

Think laterally

Artful Mentalism of Bob Cassidy has Telepathic Diary, but my version is slightly streamlined....

I think, for the effect it produces, the props are already pretty streamlined...I'd be really interested to hear of any improvements! hummmm...interesting. 8)

I'm looking to make up my own Chronologue (it's not stealing - I'm following Bob's instructions on his DVD.
Does anybody know where you can get an any year diary from; preferably one that fits in Your inside pocket?

The Works in Birmingham had some diaries of that kind a few weeks ago - check your local stores in case they have some.

Wow what a coincidence somebody used this as a part of his performance last Sunday on the Next Uri Geller show here in Greece. Only the revelation was different (the card that matched the date was inside a balloon )
