Producers please note, specs who are a little more articulate and capable of other words in their reactions would add the necessary variety!

I thought that the type of audience member was well summed up when one of them was completely bowled over by a paper shredder! No, not the magic effect... the paper shredder shredding!!!

On that basis we could start a new religion with an egg whisk!

I am no magician - although I dabble with some simple hobbyist level tricks (and am mainly drawn to mentalism) - so I think I can give a 'regular' viewer's perspective

Some of Ben's illusions are clearly quite good (he obviously has a high skill level) but many are just unimpressive, especially when presented through the medium of TV where they don't really have an impact - slight of hand is only really good when performed in person. For me, none are delivered in such a way to be inspiring and none have the wow factor. I love magic tricks and illusions of all sorts, and I'll sit for hours watching stuff on YouTube, yet I find myself turning Ben's show off... I'm simply bored by it

I try and watch magic as entertainment, I'm not one of those magicians that see it all as a puzzle to work out or a catalogue of things to steal, and as an entertainment show this falls very short.

Neither Derren nor Dynamo, Earle falls between two stools. I find the effects padded out and tedious and worst of all his smug, arrogant demeanour which puts magic back thirty years in the eyes of the public. The image of the arrogant smart ar$e who is completely condescending is one that damaged magics reputation for many years. He may be a good card technician and someone who magicians drool over but I'd be surprised if this gets a second series. I found the whole thing incredibly dull, tedious to sit through and patronisingly performed.
