Now you see me-PLEASE NO SPOILERS

Postby Anjorno » Jul 7th, '13, 14:10

as anyone seen or heard about this new magic based movie.
I have heard that its not just a silly piece of fiction and the magic in the film is all possible and that its either real or magic ideas and illusions that some of the leading inventors and experts are developing. maybe in the film its done OTT but is this true.
also with science based films being called Si-Fi can we start calling fictional magic films Magi-Fi. like now you see me would be a Magi-Fi Thriller and a tv show like Jonathan Creek would be a Magi-Fi Drama

All ill say is that it was dissapointing, and while most of the things are possible, some just seemed like an episode of Hustle. I thought Woody Harrelson was good in it, but overall i wish id waited for the dvd.

I wanted to really enjoy it, but myself and my fiance felt shortchanged.

but like u say it is possible. that's all I wanted to know. I wouldn't want to see it if it turned out it was all a load of mystical powers mumbo jumbo

No, theres no 'mystical powers' angle for the stuff they perform.

I must say I saw the film today and I cant disagree more with you, except about woody

I loved the film and it seemed nothing like the hustle. but that's my opinion

I liked freeman and caines' characters.

I'm sure I heard that David Copperfield helped with the magic directions in this - I personally really enjoyed the film, I liked that Jesse Eisenberg apparently learned a lot of technical card stuff for the film, and that according to an interview Dave Franco can throw cards and slice fruit haha.

I do agree that the tricks seemed a little OTT, but its all Hollywood, and as will be stated MANY times, its gotta be good for putting magic 'out there' and increasing our jobs and gigs?
