Miracle Card ...

Again, please criticize honestly. I believe Ed Marlo created this one. Got to give respect where respect is due.

nice quick trick, with a good effect at the end, not sure how you did it, but impressed me!

I think the correct title for this effect is "Miracle Card Change" by Ed Marlo. He published a few of them in pamphlet form and they have now been collected and republished in "Ed Marlo's Revolutionary Card Technique". Unfortunately I left my copy at Uni so I can't tell you anymore, sorry.

In my opinion, the "move" looked far to quick and therefore looked suspicious. Record your self going through the motions, without doing the move and see how it looks when you actually place the card onto the table. Then try and replicate that as you do the move. Also, there's no need to show the bottom card at the end, simply square up and continue. It's a nice touch to leave the tabled card at an angle because the audience think they have been watching the card all along.

All the best,

Critiques are welcome in The House of the Wolf ...

Thanks for all the advice. I do admit I did the move a little fast, but I had filmed it like 20 times and was tired of trying to get a 'perfect' video. I normally wouldn't show the bottom card if performing this trick for spectators, but I thought I would show it on here to prove I didn't have a duplicate card. Keep the comments coming ... The Wolf feeds on your comments.

P.S. Goldfish, thanks for correcting the trick name ... I'm definately not about stealing tricks or renaming them as my own. Marlo was a genius.

Great little trick,

Ed Marlo is a great, I'm guessing this is a simalar technique used for snap change, but obviously not used so visually. Say no more, I'm probably wrong, couldnt see anything anyways :D

Brilliant,

Mark

It is a use of the double-lift.

The lift was fine, but it seemed discontinuous with the quick placement of the card on the table. Apart from the timing of placing the card on the table, the method was carried out well.

I would advise that you reveal the top card at the end of the trick by fliping it in a similar fashion as the display of the card at the beginning of the trick (i.e. flipping the card sideways, as opposed to toward the audience). That, or do your first lift with a flip similar to the revelation in the video (i.e. toward the audience). This allays any thoughts in the spectators' minds of: "Why did he lift the card that way the first time, but not the last time?"

Nice job on the slight, though.

I recently got Ed Marlo's Revolutionary Card Technique and i've yet to start going through it seriously :P

Luckily for me the miracle card changes are some of the first chapters :D

i cant really see how that change is done and i love that aspect of magic, anyways, off to read up and "spoil" the trick for me :P Well , at least then i'll appreciate it technically :D

Keep 'em coming!

An idea that I like to use when using this change is to spread the fingers of the hand that is squaring up the deck in preparation for the riffle.

Not spread apart too much as that looks strange but the nature of the change affords you the opportunity to spread your fingers, so why not?

That way the audience has NO clue as to how it was done 8)
