I see that link I posted doesn't work. I suppose you will have to go over there and click on to "active topics" and read the topic started by Phantom Menace titled "why can't I join talk magic or magic cafe?"

Meh, inter forum bickering is so unnecessary.

Now I wont bad mouth on other sites with magic forums, but what I will say is this, Talk Magic is in my experience a well meaning and supportive community of knowledgeable and other levelled magicians, magic hobbyists and magic fans. All of whom give advice but while upholding the traditions of magic. Most of all we members don't maliciously post derogatory or disrespectful or hurtful and rude comments unlike some websites do, non implied in particular .

Also why is "Mr Goat" banned out of interest?

The usual reason a forum gets criticised on other forums is because the author has somehow not heeded the rules and regs, has been banned for exposure, foul language, posting porn, trying to sell illegal downloads or copies of tricks and routines - almost any number of unacceptable activities. As for the individual referred to, please understand that we don't divulge such reasons but it was a unanimous decision by all the Mods at the time.

I love the fact that the guy who is all outraged about not being able to join has scoured the site "for ages" and not seen the button that says "Register".

Incidentally I have reason to believe that Mr Goat is already on this site another fake name. Alas I have no idea which one it is. I really cannot approve of people registering on magic forums under fake names. Quite disgraceful.
