Revolution coin vanish by Ellusionist

Postby KaRcop » Apr 14th, '05, 19:19

Wow! when i first watched the video, i was amazed and then i watch it again and again....
This vanish does EVERYTHING it claims to do and it leaves you COMPLETELY CLEAN! there are no pulls, threads, magnets... you can even do it topless (if ur a man :D no ideas 4 the ladies 8) )

ok, i have to admit that when i downloaded the instructions and Brad said 'I'm gonna just tell u what the thing is. you only.....' i have 2 say that i was a bit disappointed. I was expecting some ingenious invention of method which i had never even concieved. But then as i watched, he went into SO MUCH detail. Not even the slightest thing was left out. he even gives you fashion advice!!! I practiced for a while then showed my parents the next day and even when it was hardly practiced, their jaws dropped.

Recently, i showed it to some of my friends and said that i would give them a fiver if they could work out the gimmick and one of them said, 'ok, if i can keep the coin for a while to look at it'. It fooled them so much and so easily and he's a magician!

This is one of the most simple and yet the most powerful coin vanishes available. I love it and you will too. Its like doing the raven but... without the raven. If you buy this, you will not be disappointed.

Evolution - or black art?

Postby magicands » Apr 14th, '05, 22:12

Looks like a black art effect to me.
Although I could be miles away, but if he is giving fasion advice on the download instructions then I guess I may be close.
That's how it looked to me anyway.

that would classify as a gimmick and if its what this trick is then its practicly exposure please be a bit more carefull on open forum i know of at least two published tricks that use this effect from pros who would not be to happy to have there meal ticket exposed.

??

But if we don't know who these pro's are and I have not named them then I have given nothing away except perhaps a little knowledge, but is that not what this forum site is used for?

I came back to say be careful if downloading Revolution as it will not (according to them not me) run correctly on Media player 10, you have to be using media player 9 or lower.

Can I say that or should I retract it?

I came back to say be careful if downloading Revolution as it will not (according to them not me) run correctly on Media player 10, you have to be using media player 9 or lower.

this is fine as it comes under support.

in open forum we refer to the stuff used for levitating objects as it we would not say use a no7 darning thread.

Looks like a black art effect to me, maybe the coin is black on one side and is adhering to the trousers on the video.

this is boadering on exposure as you described in detail how to perform a vanish

Looks like a black art effect to me
this would be fine and leaves enough to the imagination to be fair to inovators.

I'm not haveing a go personaly at you but if you read the rules of the forum you will see that the magicians only section is ok for full exposure, but the open forum is not.
we have a lot of pros who use this forum to give advice and bost some great inovators that consult us on tricks in working progress because we don't like some other sites barter secrets and expose tricks and thats why we atract seriouse magicians like yourself.
that is why the rules are tight to safeguard pros and amatures alike.

if you felt you were personaly attacked i humbely apologise unreservedly but please take ashufty at the rules when you have a spare mo thanxs.

No need to apologise

Postby magicands » Apr 14th, '05, 23:06

Hi, again.
there is no need to apologise, you did not offend me at all. I am to long in the tooth to get upset about remarks made by others. I was simply offering a thought & not a direct statement of "This is how the effect is accomplished"
I understand fully the need to protect the art of Magic, but I am not so sure about protecting the supposed origin.
Its a bit like that old beauty "The price is high because you are buying the secret as well"
My reply to this is ok, "If I tell you the secret will you knock a third off the retail price"

If there are. as you say a couple of Pro's using this "Art" effect then I am sure they would not mind others knowing.
After all, its not WHAT you do but the WAY you do it that creates entertainment..........and as Professionals, surely they have an excellent presentation for this effect?

Lastly, try using a spell checker when responding to posts as it may help you command more respect.......No offence.

Spell Checker

Postby magicands » Apr 14th, '05, 23:41

I think that a spell check on forums is a great idea.
Enjoyed this, I don't as a rule get involved with forums but you must have saved me $600 tonight as I have not purchased or downloaded a thing.

So, we can both give as good as we get, MAGIC

i supose we should go back to the origional topic so my original statment still stands if you have it is it a gimick like a melt or a sleight move like coins across :?: :?:

Revolution revisited

Postby magicands » Apr 15th, '05, 00:08

No I don't have it, I took a look at the demo Video and plunged in with a guess.
It looks cool, but in reality the effect on an audience is the same as that of the Raven, but without a reset.
Saying that, I can reset or ready the Raven in 4 seconds anyway.
The video also shows the coin turning into a die but this is really magic for magic's sake. Its the complete vanish that kills em dead.
As I am running Media player 10 I will keep my $16 tucked away for now.
All the best, Take care and Goodnight.

i have media player 10 and it works fine for me. anyway, you were asking and it is definately not a gimmick but the fashion advice is tips on making it look better like u said, its making it look good thats the trick.

but also, in the raven, you have to set it up, but here... there IS no set up. it is a purely impromtu trick. Thats y it is so good. there is only one this that can go wrong when performing it and if you have any common sense you will not be ABLE to do it wrong!

also, the idea about it adhering to black jeans and stuff is wrong. You really are clean. I do it in blue jeans anyway, but also, if u got the wrong side of the coin stuck then it wud b a huge givaway that theres this coin shining in the sun right on ur leg.

a link to it is here : http://www.ellusionist.com/order/Revolu ... Vanish.htm

really, it you have melt, then you have bought the wrong thing. no offence but you can do all of that with this and it is simply alot more clean
