I agree with the courtesy recommendation by Mandrake. I shall therefore be terribly polite and address His Excellency the exalted Doctor Lown the renowned chemist and part time conjurer from Taunton and mention to him with the great courtesy for which I am known throughout the world that I am still waiting for his definition of "psychic phenomena". He really must hurry up though because I am terribly old and would like to see it before I end up in the spirit world myself. Once he is able to provide it I shall then be in a position to be able to confirm or deny if I believe in it or not.

I certainly believe in palmistry and the tarot but then I know why it works. And it would behoove the good doctor to pay attention to my explanation which I may or may not give depending on how much energy I have and how much impertinence I receive with regard to my views which obviously should be taken as gospel in these matters. There is a psychic component to this but my definition of "psychic" may be a trifle different than our terribly exalted and wondrous doctor and part time conjurer from Taunton. That is why I am eager to hear what his definition is. If he has one of course.

I really must fetch Jolly Roger, a member who does not appear here very often to discuss spirituality. He talks wonderful nonsense and has just written a book called "The Spiritual Stage". He is terribly good at engaging people with different viewpoints and he will be terribly polite to the good doctor. He is at present fending off extremist Christian views on the Gospel Section of the magic cafe with great courtesy which amuses me tremendously since his book has nothing to do with religion and more to do with spirituality.

I have read excerpts from his book and it does have excellent advice on spirituality for magicians and it doesn't matter what faith you are or even if you have a faith at all. Atheists would get a lot out of it too as would sceptical chemists from Taunton. I really must go and fetch him.

Marks conception of being a psychic does not contradict the laws of physics. Just so you all know. If he expounded on it in detail you would understand.

Right. Having made several posts and requests re the attitude and behavior, I am deeply upset to see they are ignored and sarcastic remarks continue - such remarks being no substitute for the knowledge which is inferred but, most significantly, not demonstrated. Congratulations, yet another post locked through sheer selfishness.
