Yet again, I won't be there, but I will make it next year! *he says once again*

Go check out Brian Watson while you're up there. Some of his Facebook posts recently look pretty cool, especially his impromptu C&B's!

Had a great weekend, probably too many very similar manipulation acts in the Sunday Korean show but the Nightmare finale more than made up for it. The previous two night's shows featured the same big box illusions but that's be expected and at least we knew what the props cost as Illusioncraft were selling them only a short distance away!

Lectures still clashed and some scheduling was mind boggling, vid and sound were better than in previous years and the catering side seemed to have improved by leaps and bounds.

Sad to hear the Pavillion Theatre will soon be no more as it's being turned into a museum in the near future so I guess all lectures will be upstairs using the other areas by the Spanish Hall we don't normally see.

Thoroughly enjoyed the event (as usual!) and have already booked for 2016....... :D

So, was there anything new in the dealer hall that it is worth mentioning?

Not really. I got a Jerry O'Connell plus wallet & Bonsalopes which I knew I wanted but it's not new. GONE from Alakazam is quite a nice little punchy packet trick. Other than that I just bought refills for things & a lecture package from Alex Pandrea which I've not checked out yet. Roddy McGhie has a new button moving effect & there's a newer version of the card to clear box that seems to be pretty good but neither are what I would choose to perform. I'm sure all the dealers will claim to be stocking the trick of the convention but I didn't really think there was one.

Nothing rocked my boat particularly, I bought some colored flash paper and some magician's rope but my main interests were the shows and lectures.

I think the main thing I got last weekend was the World's Most Dangerous Card Trick, from Mario Morris. It's a very impressive looking animal trap from which you grab a selected card which is lost in the deck.

It probably won't fool the majority of magicians, but for real people the stunt is great. I got it primarily for street work, but I'm working up a stage routine as well. Not perfect for close up, I think, but it could be done strolling with some thought...
