Hi folks,
I'm sure I read about a trick a while back on a magic shop website, and possibly a review here too tho I can't remember what it was nor can I find it with any vague searches I've tried so far, just wondering if you can help!

The effect as I recall it is fairly classic, where someone chooses a random book from their own book shelf and you magically arrive at their random chosen word from somewhere within the book, it may have involved a couple of books.
Where things get even more hazy is that I've looked up a few of these and there seems to be a few somehow mathematical versions where you would ask someone to start off with a number, and then do some apparently random maths. I'm sure tho that the version I'm trying to recall doesn't involve such a technique and appears to be much more of a mentalism thing. It does seem as soon as one starts asking people to add numbers together, unless you're derren brown you can risk boring people slightly given the possible assumption that you can arrive at any number you want as soon as you start throwing in 'apparently random' maths. That said tho, maybe I've just been reading too many opinions, as I get fooled quite easily by that sort of thing

Sorry if that's bog-all to go on

I'm working on a new mentalism routine...actually my first and only routine I've ever worked on in my new found magic pursuits other than just one off tricks! So any advice would be great...I've got about 2 months to get some kind of routine nailed down and solid!
Cheers folks
