That is because paper money is now mostly linen. It is the moisture in your hands that causes that little bit of distortion in size. I blame counterfitters for making our lives miserable. It is because of them that bills are not uniform, security strips being in different places a pox on them. Of course if they are not sitting in jail they are probably sitting on a pile of money

Quite right! The design changes in UK bills are just mind boggling and it really gets me angry when supermarket cashiers take my notes, lift them to the skies and check them as though they're likely to be fakes. At times, if I get a note in my change, I do the same thing - it really pees them off!

I love this. I must start doing that sometimes. And maybe carry one of those special pens around for when they do that with my proffered note. If the shops can make a big thing of checking the money I give them, then I can surely do likewise - I'm sure I've had a dodgy note in my change before.

Mind you, that doesn't help when it's a self-checkout. "Notes are dispensed below the scanner, and if you don't like them - tough".

Ok, back on the help and support topic ...

I've made my EB2 Gimmick, it looks ok but I can't help thinking my hand drawn noted don't quite disguise 'what they're supposed to' as well as I'd hoped, some practice in the handling may solve this but unfortunately with the paper I drew them on being pretty thin you can se the main gimmick on one side. I'm a bit nervous about saying too much on here haha, does anyone have EB2 and perhaps wouldn't mind a PM conversation on the intracicies of making the best gimmick?

Admittedly it's taken most of my time drawing some funky notes, but I can see this one is gonna take some real time to get down to the perfection I'm seeing on youtube and suchlike. I haven't really got to the nuts and bolts of the handling yet as I'm not quite happy with the gimmick I've made so I should probably watch and practice anyway but would love some tips.

I think effects should come with a standardised 'DIY/Blue Peter Requirement' rating on the back ...I got my rubber cement hoorah, thanks to the link above What briliant stuff.

Oh and guys, carry a little portable uv torch with you haha most notes have some funky uv pattern on them and look pretty cool in a dark room, get a funky pen too if you want to go the whole hog
