I'm wanting to buy one of these things, but I'm confused to what the difference is.

I dont want the trick being told to me, I'm not meaning to ask that. But they both appear to vanish coins and such.

When i read about them they appear to do the same things, but there must be a difference between the tricks that either can perform?

Can anyone help me out here, I'm slightly puzzled.

Maybe they do the same tricks but in a different way? If that's the case would anyone recommend one over the other?

If you read the two descriptions for the Bat and the Raven you'll get a better understanding, but basically:

The Raven is a method for vanishing, appearing, and changing coins.

The Bat is a second method for vanishing coins that lets you do other things too. I don't have it, so I'm working off second-hand knowledge here, but I don't think it's supposed to be as good as the Raven...
