You guys are so lucky. Some of the UK online shops have incredible effects that I have yet to find in US stores - and sadly, the abyssmal exchange rate and shipping costs prevent me from making purchases at your shops.

Lucky people! I HATE YOU ALL!!!

If it's any consolation, the £/$ exchange rate is improving in your direction and worsening in ours! Just hang on a while and it will be less expensive for you.

Cole,

Going to NY - Definitely check out Tannen's - 45 West 34th street in Manhattan. It's one of the most well-known shops in New York.

If you're a fan of Oz (please don't yell at me if you're not) he can be seen there quite often.

To get there, you have to watch the building numbers. The shop is on the sixth floor of the building and there are NO signs for it. It's almost like they don't WANT you to find the place!

Anyway - that's the place I'd recommend you check out.

Hey Demitri i live in the U.S. to and ya i know they have tons of good online shops that have awsome equiptment from uk  but we have to forgive them

anyways here is a US shop that might have some interesting stuff called ellusionist  www.ellusionist.com who sell items such as The bat, The raven, M5 voodo system, and tons of black tiger deck and gear but you cant find all the stuff you would be able to at an uk online store. :x but i have learned to live with that :)

p.s. what state do you live in im from Texas

I live in NY.

I know ellusionist really well. Decent store, though they tend to inflate the prices a bit. Still, a good place to shop around. I also like the following:

Elmwood Magic - http://www.elmwoodmagic.com/ Has a large inventory and a great variety of effects/books/dvds.

Magic Depot - http://www.magic.org/store/index.php Not as big a selection, but it has some great stuff hidden in the pages. I've been tempted to purchase some of their e-books - as they look pretty solid. Above all else, this is the best PRESENTED magic site I've ever come across. The look and feel is awesome. I'm a designer by trade, so this sort of thing impresses me.

I haven't ordered from this place, but it looks pretty good -

Magic Pro Shop http://www.magicproshop.com/

Of course, there's also Penguin Magic, which has great deals - but Elmwood has a better inventory.

Whereabouts in Texas? I've been to San Antonio - and I have to say I loved it. Nice city.

Edit - Having JUST looked at your profile there, I see you're from Lufkin. Is that near San Antonio?

Well, why just don't order via web? Works like a sharm. No need to have a fancy store in your country. The only cool thing about it, is that you can have effects demo'ed for you.

Rune, I DO shop online, but to shop at UK stores would be a lot more costly.

For instance - if I were to purchase Bicycle Built for Five from Magicbox.uk.com - it would cost me $21 + international shipping costs (which are not cheap)

Whereas - in the states, I can buy it online for $14 plus shipping (much less than international).

While that's fine for products I can FIND on US sites - the problems come up for effects I can't seem to find anywhere BUT on UK-based sites.

So, just make sure your order for 200$ next time, you won't care about that tiny shipping cost :)

Wales is in the UK, and its NOT part of England

and on that note:

When the Lord made the World he decided to create a piece of Heaven on earth, a land of rolling meadows, lush grass, clear crystal waters, where all things grew and everyone was healthy. He added the talents of pure voice and heart for singing and poetry and he decided it was so good, he'd call it Wales. Unfortunately, one of his ministering angels wasn't too sure about this as it seemed a little unfair to give this place the best of everything and other nations would be jealous. 'Don’t worry', said God, 'just wait until you see the neighbours I'm giving them!'
