I am curious if there is a book or DVD that does help you memorize a deck of cards? Thanks if you can answer my question.

Have a look here for an essay by Doug Dyment on the different kinds of stack:

His new book Calculated Thoughts includes all his stacks and other work and is great value for money. It's currently out of stock but a reprint is due shortly.

That depends on what you want. A "memorised" stack (I never use the word "deck") is harder to learn than a cyclical one and it has different applications. Doug Dyment's book gives a few of each with varying degrees of difficulty. I've learnt his basic cyclical stack for mentalism; I don't need to be able to relate a card to its numerical position in the stack.

What effects do you want to perform?

well I actually learn hands on and I am not auditory, I was looking into one of these off of https://www.vanishingincmagic.com/searc ... arch-input. I have seen David Blaine use the memorizing deck like for instance off of Benji from the daily Magicians website however I didn't know how secure it is. Plus I don't want to do Faro shuffles, because I still consider myself a amateur and am not good at all on complicated shuffles. But I was wondering if I am still on the right track or should I just drop looking into the memorized deck? Thanks if you can answer my question.

As far as the time taken is concerned, I think that's going to come down to three main things, namely:

1. The learning ability of the individual.

2. The time given (set aside) to the process of learning a stack.

3. The type of stack you are learning; for example, Mnemonica by Juan Tamariz is somewhat more difficult than, for example, Pat Page's PaPa System.

The other thing to bear in mind is that if you are setting out to remember a full 52 card stack, it apparently needs revisiting in your mind, on an almost daily basis. That's certainly the previous comment from two friends who have learnt Mnemonica.
