Done! BE2 is one of the most-used items in my repertoire and always goes down a treat. Probably the best fifteen squid I ever spent. :D

Any stationery shop, newsagent or post office should be able to offer something similar.

if your talking about the small gold envelopes, you can get them from any branch of hobby craft.

or most craft supply stores, that sell card making items.

But hobby craft have them for sure.( and in many different colours too)

So long as you have a copy of the standard deck and it's for your own personal use I wouldn't mind you producing your own by scanning and blowing them up!

Kind Regards Michael :D

This seems like a good idea to test the new scanner out.

taking longer that I thought ....

Postby Waldorfcartoons » Sep 13th, '08, 19:06

... taking longer than I thought to get fluent in interpreting the markings. It's probably my ageing eyes. Like others of my ilk, I might have to stick to 'non mark dependent' routines. Has anyone (with similar situation) overcome this difficulty? If so, do PM me.

Relieved to hear I'm not the only one having difficulty with the markings. I know they have to be subtle, but whew!

If I can ever manage to devote more time to practising them, I hope I should improve, but at the moment I seem to be recognising them about 90 or 95 percent of the time, assuming they're kept right side up. Which is not really good enough to work with them for real.

Kioku from Outlaw Effects (which I've just caved in and bought) is even worse when it comes to subtle markings. At least in that one you can stack the odds by laying the cards down in known order.

Blimey 95% Robbie - I'm 10% below that! I guess over 60's like me should stay away from routines dependent on spotting clever markings.

I'm only guessing at that figure -- it's been a while since I've brought out the Beyond ESP deck.

Currently having more fun struggling to read my new Kioku cards. (Which I persist in trying to call "Kuoni".) With the added bonus of having to memorise a list of items to go along with them. Memory work has never been a strong point.

If it helps, it does get easier to read the Beyond ESP 2 markings the more you use them. You can always sit down with the deck and deal the cards down, reading the markings as you go; then see how many you got right. I know this is not realistic performing conditions, but it will help.

As far as "Kuoni" is concerned, I actually thought the markings were a bit obvious but no one ever seems to pick up on it. Which helps. :D

You're right, Replicant, it's all a matter of practising and getting your eye in. I'm just slow at it. Maybe I have slow eyeballs. (I know I need new glasses, so that isn't going to help either.)

One of my Kioku cards I reckon is screamingly obvious, one seems to have no marking at all, and the other two I tend to confuse with each other.

Osterlind Tip

Postby celebrity » Sep 15th, '08, 16:32

Have you tried looking at the cards from a greater distance Richard Osterlind finds it easier to work with them when he is standing roughly two/three meters away?

Kind Regards Michael

Mmmmmm .... sadly the old weary eyes win in the end. I can't get consistent enough to dare performing with this deck. I've tried some extra marking on a couple of cards but it doesn't look great. Pity. I'll stick to normal esp cards and routines (and probably sell my esp 2 kit). Ah well, you win some, you lose some.
