Million Dollar Knot

Postby trevc » Aug 20th, '05, 06:49

Im not sure if this is reviewed already but i did a search and didnt see it so i'll review it.

Ok, It's sold exclusivly at penguinmagic and is great for the price. It is a system (instructional video) that teaches you to tie your own invisible elastic loops. It also comes with 5 tricks you can do with the loops and about 90 meters of invisible elastic thread that can stretch to 500x its length.

The video is great because he goes through every step so that its easy to understand. I watched the video once and never needed to watch it again. And now i can tie a loop in about 2 minutes. Sometimes the instructor sounds like hes eating something but you can still understand what he is saying.

I think its a good product because it comes with a very good instructional video, a good amount of invisible elastic, and a cube of wax.

If your into loops i would highly recommend this video.

Thanks for the review Trev.

I've must admit I use the St.El.Th Jig, as put out by Chris Jones and Tom Lauten, and find it both easy and quick. I would never be without it. For me it is one of those fundamental items.

If I am using Loops for a gig now, I can very quickly knock up as many as I need just before I go out. I can't recommend the St.El.Th jig enough.

It was Reviewd here.

(btw, you may like to have a look at the review template. It's a sticky at the top of the reviews room, and is designed so that as much information as possible can be included in the review. For example, a link to where it is available, and how much it costs).

I was tempted to buy the jig - but I already had the million $ knot. I assume the jig makes it go much faster.

I use the million $ knot a lot - I've made close to 50 loops now using it. I use the elastic from alakazam - I found it to be a bit stronger than the stuff from penguin (although penguin's stuff is more invisible - obviously).

The knot is taught well in the download - I'm happy with it. I was using Yigal Masika's loops - which are great, but really expensive compared to making them yourself.
