Broken Wand: Dan Turcotte

Dan Turcotte, owner and creator of YouDoMagic.com, has passed away.

Dan had been battling cancer for some time and leaves behind a wife and daughter.

Dan also leaves behind an amazing legacy of instructional material through his website YouDoMagic.com. Dan was one of the most genuinely giving members of the magic community and was dedicated to producing quality material for magician's to learn from.

Through my dealings with Dan he never ceased to amaze me with his genourosity and helpfulness. He was always ready to give advice and to help anybody who asked.

To say that I'm gutted is an understatement. Dan will be sorely missed.

All the best,

Will Wood

I can only echo your words. He will be a great loss to the magic community. My thoughts are withhis family.

A Sad day for magic indeed

Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music. - Kristian Wilson, Nintendo, Inc, 1989..

I was about to come across here and post this. We were kept up to date with Dan's illness over on Magic Bunny. Rest in Peace Dan.

Having had quite a few email exchanges when, in a very small way, helping Dan check and refine his Sponge Magic downloads, I found him to be a solid good guy with a firm idea of standards and principles which are all too lacking these days. Sorry to hear he's passed on but, as mentioned above, what a wonderful legacy he's left us. RIP Dan.
