Packet Switch

Postby SirRawlins » Oct 30th, '05, 16:23

Hi There Guys,

I've been working on a few packet routines recently ... I'm looking for a clean move to completely exchange one packet (4 cards) for another packet (4 cards).

Has anyone got any one's they would reccomend? ... its in front of the specs eye's so i would like it to be rather clean if possible.

The first packet starts on the table, i want pick it up, and sqaure it up, then iether place the new packet on the table or hand to the spectator.

Can you help with this?

Thanks,

Rob

if you dont mind a gimmick you could do a lot worse than "switcheroo". kinda needs to be used with a jacket though... OR you could try a top change with 4 cards (assuming your switching packets from a deck)

in fact ive just reread your post and forget everything i just wrote...

another way could be to have packet A palmed in your right hand which you use to lift packetB from the table then use a left hand gamblers cop to ditch packet B

Yeah - something like a macmillian switch maybe - normally done with 1 or 2 cards but dont see why it wouldn't work with 2 more.

A macmillian switch would just look like you turned over the cards - so it would be quite logical if your last trick ended on face up cards and the next trick starts with the cards face down.

Clean up by lapping.

I learned it on Unreal Work by Jason England and Paul Wilson.

Just posted a quick video of a packet switch which should hopefully be what you need. It's in the Tutorial Filesharing forum, or can be found directly here.

All the best,

If I understand you correctly, and providing I get the trick name right......Lee Asher does an effect called "slap that ace".....it is on his website leeasher.com I use this not as an effet, but inbetween effects, to visibly and effectively change packets, but having some specator value to the switch.......have a look at it, and let me know if you think that might work for you?
