They are so beloved of certain flourishers because they are stiff and resilient - making them excellent for cuts.
Also they have an appeal because Dan and Dave use them and Lee Asher - they were also used on the Vernon Chronicles.
The cards were made on a certain type of stock which isn't available today which makes them rare.

saw a deck go for about £80 on ebay a while back
