Who will this fall to? Members or not?

seige wrote:Fifthly: I am STILL looking for contributors. [b]If you have an effect which you would like NUMS to market, I offer a copywriting, editing, illustrating and production service—basically meaning I'll take your scribbles from the beermat they are on, produce a lovely PDF, and sell your item straight from the site on a 30% commission basis. It's all legit, and with credit card processing and bank transfers in place, the site is already e-commerce enabled. (for info, contact trading@nothingupmysleeve.co.uk).

I think this is a great idea - one question though (and I decided to post it here rather than email you as I thought it may be of use to others) to what extent do you help the creator? For example, if someone came to you with an effect but needed some help researching it, would you help with that or is it expected that they have done all of that beforehand?

The recouping of funds will NOT affect members (unless they are willing to buy effects, of course!). I am looking into affiliate schemes and the like to fund NUMS in the best way I can.

Secondly: My proposal is to take and effect and present it professionally. Including copywriting, artwork, credits, copyright (intellectual) and video dems, plus promotion/marketing via NUMS.

Most would be available as instant download PDF files, but anything needing gaffs would need further talks and discussions about manufacture and logistics.

Ooooooooh - Mr Siege sir, you rock ;)

I'm currently creating an effect known as "short-changed" :P - if all goes well, I will know who to call ;)

Anyhow, I'm new to all of this marketing buisness, and all the "lingo" of it so to speak. With 30% commision, is that 30% of total earnings? I'm just interested in what it means :P - or is it 30% of every sale (which ends up to the total earnings again I guess...)

Well, I am new to all of this as I said ;)

cheers to anybody who can help!

Love

Chris

Example:

Your trick goes on sale at £10. From that sale, I will get charged about 80p for the credit card/debit card transaction. Therefore, the actual sale is worth £9.20. From that, I take 30%—leaving a result of about £6.

This £6 is yours. My commission goes towards upkeep/costs of the website, plus the design/production costs of advertising.

:D ?

That's what I thought - bar the credit/debit transaction.

Cheers Sir Siege :D (hmmmm - Sir Siege...I knight you Sir Siege, Lord of Talk Magic) ;)
