Complete Card Magic - worth the money?

Postby trickyricky » Jan 17th, '06, 19:57

I have an opportunity to buy this complete set for less than half price. I cant afford it but unfortunately i own a credit card and am tempted to buy it. Do you think i should give into my urges to buy this or is it not worth the money?

I was born with Multiple Personality Disorder. Luckily, they are all me, they just dont always get along...

I don't have the whole set, I've got volumes 2, 3, 4, & 5. I think there's some good stuff on there, but some of it is just different presentations of the same thing. For example there are two tricks on volume 2 (I think) that finish with the selected card being palmed and produced in some way. They're essentially the same trick.

That being said, if you've got a chance to get them half price (completely legally, I hope) then I'd say they're definitely worth getting. I bet you'll enjoy at least half of what's there and that's all you'll have paid for.

I have the whole set of these and on volumes 1 and 2 there is pretty much nothing I would use personally but if you are a complete beginner they are good introductions to magic as most are self working or close to it.
The rest of the volumes have a varying array of material some of which I do use quite often. I particularly like the last two volumes which are the sleights, cuts, flourishes etc. Alot of these I knew already from different Dvds but it is nice to have them all in one place.
Personally I think at half price it is well worth it although you will have to suffer the incessant music on the dvd.
