IF YOU THINK THAT CARD MAGIC IS NOT ONE STEP FURTHER THAN THAT MAGIC KIT MY PARENTS GOT ME WHEN I WAS SIX YOU'RE MISTAKING. I REALLY THINK THAT WHAT I DO IS GOOD.

We don't really know what to think as we don't know that much about you or your magic (or your age and skill level).

Please read and follow the advice that Hary Truman has posted and I think that youwill find the TM membership will be much more helpfull.

have bought scotch and soda made by Johnson from the US. The half dollar looks discoloured around the edge, and it's normal. I know this because I bought US half dollars for my okorto box set and they look exactly the same.

Re Scotch and Soda and also Hopping Halves ....

American Half Dollars and full Dollars used to be advertised as 'Silver' but silver was expensive and when coins were made from silver people used to 'Clip' them meaning they shaved a bit off and traded it in, and the coins became smaller.

So the Yanks came up with a sandwich effect. 2 layers on either side were predominantly silver and 17 layers in the middle of the sandwich mostly composed of copper and other cheap composites.

This is the reason you see copper colouring on the edges of your coins but you can play on that as a feature, I do when doing Hopping Halves and point out the middle sandwich of copper 8) To me it enhances the effect !

There should be a key with the words 'Caps Lock' on it next to the letter 'A' on your keyboard. If you feel so inclined, you could give it a quick press and see what happens. It might actually encourage people to reply with a little less sarcasm.

AND
Also, again about your postings, but there is a little edit button by all your posts. If nobody else has replied, it is encouraged that you use that button and edit your original message rather than posting a new one. You may wish to spend a little time reading through the forum rules and post an introduction in the correct forum, allowing people to respond with a greater knowledge of your preferred area of magic, experience, etc.

if you can't say your age then people will asume your a kid as most adults have no problem giving there age, i asume nothing but have pointed out in another post regarding red writing.
an itroduction gives us some idea about who you are and what skills you pocess, you could be an amature hobbyist (ah) or you could well be a working professional card magician (wp), but as we have no basis to work with we have to go by your posts which don't say much.
if you have any further questions on coin magic or introductions feel free to pm me, contact me through my website or e-mail me as you wish.

Since I'm getting back into magic, I'm noticing that I have a lot of gimmicked stuff, but don't necessarily remember how to use them. Scotch & Soda is one of them. I still have the coin and the breakout ring, and know how to separate. The routine/sleight/patter is what I'm rusty on. Any suggestions for where I can find a couple of good sleights to use with this? I lost the directions YEARS ago, and I've been searching the internet... Thanks for any help in advance.

Does it have to be a Scotch & Soda booklet or will any booklet do?

Joking aparts, it's one of the few complete reference sources that you'll find without too much looking. Well worth the asking price.

here's a basic one to get you started.
place the two coins into the spectators hand and have them close ther hand around your fingers, withdraw your fingers and say "my hand is empty, but i can pluck a coin from out of your closed fist and transfer it to my breast pocket thus".
motioning taking invisible coin from there closed fist and dropping it into your breast pocket.
"now i have one coin", show coin from pocket, "and you have the other", let them discover only one coin, take coin and do retention vanish and say "now you have none".

a nice trick at this point is to do nun (none), which i belive seige at nums can still suply. :?:
