Am interested in this:
http://www.penguinmagic.com/europe/allr ... php?ID=606

Can you do the following effect with it:

Ask spec for a number. he writes it down, magician reveals what the number is. Either this way of the magician writes the number down and reveals it. Basically can you read someones mind with a basic predict the number routine?

Using any pen?

How much setup?

reset?

You can't do that effect with this. For that type of prediction, you need a swami gimmick or variation. The Xpert is a funny kind of thing to describe, first of all you can't use any pen for any of the effects, you need to use the supplied 'gimmick'. I put gimmick in inverted comma's because it's not really a 'gimmick' that you get. Setup and reset, I can't comment, it varies. If you've read Kenton Kneppers X book, you will know what the Xpert is.

I don't know, I've only ever used the C-type, until somebody threw them out by mistake  . They were pretty secure, but a bit uncomfortable at first, you get used to it though. I think I bought them from magictricks.co.uk

Biggest problem with Xpert is that it dries out very quickly and then is unusable.

Hmmmm,

Xpert uses a felt tip pen. I bought it and it didn't suit my methods of performing. And it relates to a certain type of pen available on the market, though mostly US and not UK.

I would suggest that before you buy it, purchase 13 steps to Mentalism which will give you a million times more useful information. And there is a lot of useful stuff about using a nail writer. Which is far more adaptable than Xpert.
