This is too easy ... or not?

Thought this would never work, but i fooled a lot of people with this:

Everybody here knows when making a one handed fan in your right hand all the index symbols on the cards will be visible, but when making one in your left hand, no index symbol will be visible (only on the last card).
Then i thought, every magician knows that, but maybe others never thought about that. So this is what i did:

I took off half of a face down deck of cards and rotated it a 180 degrees (half circle) around, then turned it face up and fanned it out with my left hand while making a comment like "look, it rotated this part of the deck, so no symbols are visible". Then i fanned out the rest of the deck with my right hand and said "this part is not rotated, so all the symbols are visible". Holding the fans next to each other to show a 'blank' fan and a regular one. Next i closed the fans and riffle shuffled them into each other while remarking that the 'rotated' cards are shuffled into the 'not rotated' cards. Now snap your fingers over the deck, fan them out again in the right hand and 'magically' all the cards are rotated back.

Who needs expensive tricks or gimicks if you can fool people with this kind of silly things ;)

Hmm gonna try that later tonight, could be funny.
But maybe a bit too easy yes.

Hey when it doesn't work you can always go like: "Yes that was just for a funny warm-up. Now we'll move on to the real magic!"

Or you could say that the pips have vanished instead of blatently telling them what you are doing

Hmm...I find that a one-handed fan in either hand shows the pips, just one way they're on the inside and the other they're on the outside.

A thumb fan/pressure fan does this admirably - it's called a blank fan and can go with a nice storyline (sent my cards to the drycleaners?). You could also do a whatsitcalled - one-handed reverse circular fan. If you haven't the foggiest what I'm talking about get the Art of Card Manipulation.

Sorry, I'm rambling.
