It's a terrible demo, but you could go to www.magictrics.co.uk and search for "Raven". There is an awful demo here. Alternaively, go here

http://hanklee.net/hankievision/%2Chttp ... kievision/

for some excellent demo's of tricks available to buy online.

Hope this helps.

I've recently bought Chuck Leach's official Raven Video which is excellent for showing the moves as they should be performed. However, I'm having a great deal of trouble getting the Raven to retract into my shirt cleanly after the vanish. I seem to have set up exactly as shown on the video but I can't achieve a clean vanish. Has anyone else had similar problems and if so have you any advice for me? You can post replies on the MO forum.Thanks.

I had so many problems with actually getting in to retract in through my shirt I rigged it up to retract up the sleeve of my dinner jacket. I just pin it to the top seam of the jacket and it retracts far enough so that my sleeves can be rolled up after the effect. Although its not perfect its a nice alternative!

I highly recommend The Raven as well. If you have a chance, get the video too. They have it at www.chazpro.com. It has at least 20 different effects and some ideas to get those gears turning in your brain for new effects. As far as a demo goes I have no links but David Blaine's Street Magic show is the perfect demo of it. The dumbfounded look on the kid's face is worth it alone. It is on the Discovery channel alot on weekend nights. It is also on the David Blaine video/dvd Fearless, a great buy in itself where if you know some of the tricks (alot were shown on FOX's Street Magic Secrets Revealed) it gives you a good start for some presentation aspects. Also, if you like the Raven try the Micro 5 (kits also available) that is also available at the Chazpro site. It is a great buy for serious or beginning PK magicians and strong enough to work in almost all situations.

Hey before you buy any PK gimmicks, wait about a week. I have just ordered the biggest ****** I can get my hands on. It is substantially more powerful than the standard PK gimmick and I can't wait to try it out. It is coming from the States, so shipping will take about a week.

He He He! Should be fun! I'll bung a review in when I have tried it out.

I was looking to buy one a while back, but I wanted to find a strong one with a long range, and even though I am a physicist I couldn't understand most of the units used on the web pages I looked at.

I'll let you know how I get on with it when it arrives. Apparently you can move a car from a distance of around 20 feet! :-)

As far as the micro 5 goes, if you are familiar with the street magic secrets revealed gimmick for PK match effect, it is about half that size, 1/4 inch high, and then about 1 1/2 by 1 1/2. You can easily conceal it in a card case. I put mine in one and cut some cards to fit around it and if anyone gets suspicious you can easily flash the tops of the cards or pull out a few of the fully intact cards that fit in as well. It's "range" is about the size of one of those mini-basketballs that little kids use. Bigger than a softball and smaller than a regulation basketball. You could put this thing just about anywhere without too much notice, even on your wrist and do raven style effects but will require some slight to ditch things AFTER you steal them away. Not to hard to do with a little misdirection. The kit that is available for/with it has 2 cling rings, 2 steel core pennies, a shimmed penny shell, a wrist strap and a very small supply of shimming materials. The PKer Tony is talking about is probably the Mega K, which is about 3 of the micro 5's, I've considered it just for the pure power to easily move things at about 3 times the distance of mine. A behemouth for PK effects. If anybody has some cool ideas for any PK effects I'd love to hear them. One good one i've used is the so called haunted pack with one shimmed card. No need for the gimmicked deck. Very, very eerie.

Apparently my gimmick was in transit and have now attached itself to the side of the container. Specialists have been called in to see if it can be removed, or if the container will have to be cut around it.

I believe it. I had my "little guy" in my card box at work, like I explained above, was tossing it around and it all of the sudden and violently attached itself to some lokers that were a good foot to foot and a half away. I have made sure to be more careful because it was a pian to work off. Just imagine a card box stuck to a set of lockers and almost impossible to remove. I learned my lesson and goodluck Tny with yours, and remember, keep it away from your credit cards, it will suck their charging power right out of them. It already did to me when I set it next to my wallet. Have fun with "Tiny". hehehe

Hi Brenton

Good point about the credit cards. To be honest that never even occured to me!

I have now received it, but have yet to put it to good use. It is ridiculously powerful and should be a lot of fun. I'll write a review when I get a chance to try it out for real.
