On holiday recently I'd had a quiet afternoon on the beach and when I was packing up to go I noticed what looked like a large furry object around my finger, it was the colour of a rotten apple and for a moment I thought I'd put my hand in something oooh nasty left by a careless doggie. On closer inspection I realised what it was. Although clean and white, the beach sand was on volcanic rock so it had a lot of ferrous oxide/rust particles in it and my PK had attracted all those particles lust like the old school science experiments with iron filings. Now came the difficult part - without a stronger PK item, how to get all those particles off? Most were pulled off easily enough but the last few would only come off after I used a squirt of Mrs.M's moisturiser cream and wiped them off on a cloth. Moral of the story - don’t wear your PK on a beach!

Great story Mandrake! My only bug-bears so far are that it keeps wiping the magnetic strip on my London Underground tickets and the vast amount of 2p's and 1p's I keep hoiking out of my pockets when out shopping!

I would like to know though, what do you use to keep your ring in good condition? Mine has discoloured a little from having my sweaty finger in it for too long!
Would Brasso bring back the shine?

First sorry if this has been said. I couldn't read through 5 pages of posts but if you have a ring and it doesn't fit and the dealer only stocks the one size call the dealer anyway they should be able to contact the supplier explain the situation and trade with the supplier. If they can't or won't find another dealer.

On holiday recently we were issued with those magnetic credit card things which pass for room keys these days. I managed to wipe my 'key' 5 times and had to ask for replacements. I got the impression that the staff thought I was doing it deliberately! Handfuls of small change are a real problem but suddenly finding you have a unintentional fistful of hotel/restaurant cutlery can also be a bit weird...

As for cleaning, anything like Brasso would probably remove the coating and ruin the appearance even more so best policy is to only wear it as and when required and possibly wearing a 'normal' ring to preserve the feeling of having one on.
