As always, if you put Healed and Sealed into the Search function you'll find many previous threads full of tips and hints. Personally I find a small candle gives better results than a lighter and your second suggestion will do if there's nothing else available. After all, it should only be a very small part of the effect, nothing more than one casual glimpse and it's all over - or should be!

a dri-wipe marker shows silver through it so stick to soot from a flame

I'll have to agree with larry, i've always just used peice of paper towel, black marker and attached it with some water. works better than black marker directly on the can.

the only problem with the whole flame and paper thing is it isnt very clean well flame when wiped gets all on your fingers and they figure it out and the paper is easy to ditch but takes too long to prep!

healed and sealed soda

Postby lozey » Mar 26th, '06, 01:19

i use a lighter and just be as neat as i can. Then i just lick my finger and wipe round the section to give it a neater edge. No ones ever spotted it at about 4 feet away

my technique

Postby archimage » Apr 2nd, '06, 12:41

I also use a candle or lighter then use toilet paper to properly shape the mark. Then during the performance I use a paper towel or napkin to "seal" the can, then throw the napkin away as I show the resealed can.

The shock of the resealed can is a mind blower and no one has never asked to see the napkin.

Just my two cents. I'm trying to talk around the technique and hope this wasn't too much exposure.

Please remove my post if I revealed too much.

I just got this trick, and was wondering if anyone has a link for David Blaine performing this. I have never seen him do it, and would like to watch his handling of this effect.

When performing Healed and Sealed I have found that I get exactly the same reactions without preparing this part of the trick. I just don't show that part of the can because people automatically assume it is like that anyway.

Just my thoughts on the matter ...

;)

sorry this is the only place I can discuss, I was following the lead with this one.

even if you've figured parts of this effect out, it's still a worthwhile investment for the extra tips and routines you will get within the instructions.
