...ah if it was that easy, we'd all be doing it and having our own tv show and hoardes of attractive women clambering all over us...

did anyone notice Luke Jermay's name in the credits?

the only suggestion i heard was snow and flake...and he was only trying to suggest an old lady, rather than deliberately make him think of his dead granny...no different to the video game effect from last series...

Derren is, IMHO, far better live than on TV as he seems to enjoy the audience reactions and feeds off them a lot. He smiles a lot more and generally comes over as being far warmer than on TV. He's said in the past that he prefers to do live shows and that's quite apparent in his stage presentations. I'm sure you'll enjoy what he does, have fun!

...hopefully he'll release his hour long specials (messiah and seance were my favourites) and a "live" dvd too...

...he's got a new book out at some point - exploring various techniques that he uses...

i'd love it if he did a special with Andy Nyman and Jerry Sadowitz...playing different characters and so on...

but more than anything - i'd really love to see him do a special where he runs for mayor in an american city or maybe is the puppet-master behind gettting someone elected over here...that would be marvellous...shame jim'll fix-it isn't still running...

I've heard a lot of good stuff about his live stuff.
I was gonna go see hm at the Corn Exchange but by the time I'd found out about it, it was sold out =/

I read about it in the paper and they said it was really good.

I wish he would release some live DVDs

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

his live show is a lesson in how to perform. I hate the way that every discussion ends up talking about derren but at the end of the day the guy is god.

I have managed to work out how he does 90% of tricks but I wouldn't dream of performing them because I know I couldn't 1% of the same character to them that he does.

PS I spoke to him about 7 deceptions and he took my idea on the pulse stop and turned it into something vreath taking for the stage show. He even credited me in the show at the Lowry but it was so subtle that only I would know.
If anyone sees the stage show and the pulse stop notice the name of his 'indian teacher'. Its a very english name and is in fact my name. If nothing else I can include in my promotional material that I have influenced DB :D

Wow! I'm seeing him in Lewisham on the 26th so I'll watch out for that.

I saw him at the corn exchange and thoroughly enjoyed myself.
It was the second time I'd seen the show yet I was still blown away. Also met him afterwards (again!) and had a nice chat, signed some stuff.
He is a very brilliant man.

He usually has a couple of people selling Tee Shirts, Programmes and Trick of the Mind DVDs - things like that.

was watching him again last night - and there was one thing that amazed me. when he had the room full of pictures of people from history, and he told the guy to think of his proffesion (obviously with his subtle hints e.t.c), I decided to play along. From somewhere in my mind, the medical proffesion came up, and I thought of surgery - by golly I was right!

hmmm - just thought thst I would say so ;)

Love

Synopsis
Derren Brown's amazing television and stage performances have entranced and amazed millions. His baffling tricks and stunning illusions have set new standards of what's possible, as well as causing controversy. Now, for the first time, he reveals the secrets behind his craft. He delves into the structure and psychology of magic. He tells you how to read clues in people's behaviour and spot liars. He discusses the whys and wherefores of hypnosis (which he says doesn't exist) and shows how to use the powers of suggestion and massively improve the power of your memory. He also investigates the paranormal industry, exposes a few charlatans and looks at why some of us feel the need to believe in it in the first place...Woven into this are autobiographical stories about Derren's own experiences and beliefs, told with characteristic humour and engaging honesty. This extraordinary book lifts the lid on the deepest darkest secrets of magic and explores the limits of what can be achieved by the human mind. A must for Derren's legions of fans, it will amaze you, entertain you and expand your mind at the same time...

Our Price: £18.99

Amazing how they don't have a title but have the price sorted. I suppose this will be on thousands of Christmas Prezzie lists!
