Melting Point patter

Postby watfordlad123 » Jul 7th, '06, 18:00

Hi all,

Very new here, (and quite new to the magic scene) and don't want to sound stupid but does anyone heve any tips for some patter for Melting point?

This may seem silly but just when I think I have got the trick down, I find myself unable to perform it due to a lack of patter.

I want to wait for the correct moment to pull this trick off, but not sure how to bring it into conversation, and what to say when I do.

Many thanks in advance for this one.

Andy

I would go along the lines of talking about the properties of glass. Like when you press something up against it tight it looks like its on one side when its really on the other. Or talk about illusion vs. reality. I dont know just my thoughts

I like the idea of illusion versus reality, do a spoof at the start, saying something like it looks like it goes through. Like an illusion.

Then do it for real saying its actually reality.

similar problems with patter for sinful in a way. The effects are so unbelievable that it's hard coming up with something believable to say to support them.
In the end I went with being as surprised as them when testing it on friends, they know I'm into magic...."apparently theres a way to get it in side" while toying with the can and coin for a while, then BAM.....I'm the first to say "crikey, I think it's worked".

Also from watford by the way, ello lad

not a fan of sigs, so I won't bother adding o..... oh
