Access to Magic Conventions

Postby Jordan C » Nov 7th, '03, 11:15

Hi Guys

Having loved magic all my life I'm now taking it very seriously and trying to learn as much as I can. (See my post in INTRODUCTIONS for more info).

Thanks to this board I have located a Magic group that meets just yards from my house. Ultimately I aspire to become part of the Magic Circle and a member of equity.

Now regards magic conventions. Are these open to magicians who are already members of the magic circle only or are they generally for anyone with a keen interest in magic to attend?

Where is a good source of information for upcoming conventions in the UK?

Does anyone know of "magic classes/schools" in Eastern England where I can learn more sleights and more about the art form in general???

Conventions are usually open to anyone who knos about them and pays to go along, though some do offer reduced prices for club members etc.

I heard that there was a university somewhere in england offering a degree in magic, but I haven't found any info about it on the web, so it could just have been an unfounded rumour.
