Just a few passes

Postby stevebo » Jul 21st, '06, 00:14

Heya guys.

I've been working my passes for the past few days and think I've improved a fair bit. I have no idea about the names of the passes because I just learn them from watching other people's videos :P. any comments welcome! :D

Sorry it's not up to my usual performance standard but this was just a video I made for my own use and it turned out ok IMO so I thought I'd share. Sorry about the shaky performance!

Enjoy

p.s. Yes I know I have massive veins

Nice passing

However i would have recorded it from a diffrent angle becuase everything can be seen :?

Also with your first pass, personaly i felt that you took them up too high.

But overall nice work :D :D

Thanks for the tips. I was trying to get it at a difficult angle so that I was making it harder for myself. Also I saw someone else do it at this angle and I was like  so I tried it at the same angle.

Also just another thing i forgot to say was that your last pass was extremly quick however it looked a bit unnatural and your hands were a bit erm.. i don't know how to put this but 'twitchy' and a bit 'stiff' looking so maybe if you loosened up a bit it might be less suspect to the layman.

But still they were really nicly done :D :D

Yeah, I realised that I'm a bit stiff on the pass right now. I'll really have to work on getting it smoother and more relaxed. Thanks for the advice! :D

And 92 views on the video link after like 15 minutes of uploading? Wow?! But I only posted up the video here on TM! And there's only been like 20 views... I'm confused :? and I hate being confused lol.

Err... Well since I got Born to Perform like a year and a half ago? But I never thought I could reach that speed so I didn't bother to practice it. It was about a week ago when I saw a few XCM videos and saw some passes that I liked so I decided to do a bit more practice on it and here I am! :P

I think it's great advice so I'm taking it! :D If I'm not showing an actual performance of a video, I'm asking for advice and I think it's great! :D Thanks

Woah...

As you all know, I'm a pass freak and I must say, those were fairly decent. The angles used were interesting, I didn't even know you could hide a pass from that angle.

The only thing I can see is that on the classic pass, you can see a clear space between the top and bottom packets as they're getting replaced which gives the pass away. Better to have a more natural pass than a faster pass (at least in my opinion). I might post another video of what I mean as the current one up is a bit outdated.

Can you film a pass vid from straight on? I dont THINK it'd be any different than from the side, but I want to see what it looks like head on before I say anymore.

Great work though, very impressive.
