Magic acts as a good ice breaker but from then on in, it's your personality that will count (along with copious amounts of expensive champagne  ).

Seriously, If you can string a few sentences together on a range of different topics, have some manners and make her laugh then you're in with a change.

If she's getting bored after the third card trick and you've nothing else to say then you've no hope.

Yes at leat you know they like you for you and not just impressed by a trick!

Magic is real, just look around you, some of the most amazing things have no reason, no explanation but are very real.

One trick I've been using lately is going up to a girl---striking a conversation---gently rubbing her arms and wrists up and down---all the while taking her watch---shes so enamored by my flirting she doesnt realize what i have done----and then the classic (but oh so corny) "ive always got time for u" line and hand her back the watch---actually succesfully pulled it off last 2 times i tried---lol

I personaly planned a trick for a girl a while ago and it was to have her pick a card (and intentionaly give her the ace of hearts) then have her shuffle it into the deck and have a rose and a duplicate of the ace hidden behind her, then reveal the rose and card.

another thing I noticed is with the ace of hearts in my deck I have drawn a crack down the middle which drawns alot of attention.

Not just creepy, but if there's any truth in the fact that this is successful, I'll eat my own spleen.
