Hello. I have been looking for a good ACR routine. If anyone has one they made or from a book/DVD, any comments are needed. For the record, I use Oz's ACR from Born To Perform. great routine.

If you know how to do the one form Born to Perform, then you might be best picking your favorite bits out of there and/or using the foundations taught to create other exciting phases yourself. ACR is great for personalisation and improvisation, so my advice is just to have a play and a think untill you come up with something you like.

Daryl has a good ambitious card DVD I believe, although I do not have it. Maybe have a search on the forum for a review of that.

I love the Martin Sanderson version (Coprorate close-up DVD) but that is rather expensive to perform. I agree about making your own routine, will be good.

Why not just get Royal Road to card magic, and make any version of it you think would be neat?

My ACR I have turned into a bit of a reading. I take the deck and put it on the table. Then I have them visualize a card they feel is most like their personality. Then I have them say it out loud and turn over the top card. They match, because when they focus on the deck it adopts their personality. And their personality card will always come right to the top.

You cannot go wrong with the Daryl dvd. Firstly he perfoms his FISM winning ACR then he explains that move by move. He then teaches a host of other ACR moves aswell, so you can use these to build you own routine

Quite honestly, I look at an ACR as legos (or building blocks for those of you who might not know what legos are).

Sure the prebought sets are fun to build and look at but after a while you'll want to take all the blocks from all the sets and just make whatever else you want to make which could be even better.

There's a sort of core of ACR moves that you learn but after that, putting them all together is up to you.

Some days I'll feel like using a whole bunch of color changes in my ACR, other times will just be a more standard rises to the top, it really depends.

Just make sure the ACR doesn't go on too long. You should stop before the audience looks bored to make the moment memorable. 5 or 6 "productions" is ususally enough.

Just IMHO the Born to Perform 'premade set' is almost exactly what I would do anyway. So easy, so fun to do!

If you want to create your own then definitely get the Daryl dvd. There is about 35 moves you can routine. And Daryls teaching is excellent.

You will not be dissapointed
