Signed Card/Coin

Postby jamie638 » Aug 20th, '06, 16:44

Hey, sorry if this is in the wrong section but I am looking for a decent signed card or coin routine and was wondering what one you would say is the best for street style magic. Thanks, Jamie638

Not necessarily for street magic but C2C looks great - a signed coin appearing INSIDE a signed card, and it's gotten great reviews too.

C2C is ok but I still can't make the gimmick easily.

A coin transposition like, Ninja coins or copper silver brass are good but not signed.

For a signed card Jay Sankey in a flash followed by paperclipped are top of my list, both can use the same signed card which is a good follow on.

Paperclipped is extremely easy. There is no difficult sleight what so ever. It's an amazing trick and amazingly easy.

Thanks,

Are we thinking about the same Paperclipped? I still haven't mastered the sleight necessary and I've been working for weeks!

I am in fact wrong. I'm thinking of "@)(#!" Which is another Sankey trick involving a paperclipped card. That one is genius as well. You should look into that one. A lot of people ask how to pronounce the title. He named it because that is how the spectator reacts.

What about Jay Sankey's "In A Flash"
Signed Coin & Signed card plus Fire what more could you want.
Do a search it gets good reviews and resets straight away.

ps, plus its very easy to do

Paper clipped is very easy, the speed Jay does the move at is extreme but if you use his patter you actually have ages to pull it of.

I do it slowly to make sure it looks right when finished.

I have been performing about a year now so I am no expert with cards!

The transposition with the cilpped card is very easy although I use a clip on bookmark which is bigger than a paper clip, a bit more visual and easier to handle.

Some people even use a small bulldog clip, the bigger the clip the less chance of fluffing the handling as paperclips are quite small.

In a flash is also very easy I often start with this which is a good attetion grabber!!!

Re Paperclipped:

I actually use a slightly different move: Creased Lightning from, guess what, Smoke and Mirrors. It makes the second part much easier and it's much neater than the MCF too. What can I say, get Smoke and Mirrors!

why not make your own or at least experiment though? save some money!

maybe a mercury card fold combined with a signed coin too? if you ask them to search through the deck and remove their card after you've done the mercury and palmed, you've got plenty of time to do whatevers necessary with the coin(s)...

if a second spectator is involved, they could hold what they think is the marked coin whilst you're arranging yourself and the other is trying to find their card?

maybe play around with the Xpert too if you have it and use it with the coin..

just off the top of my head by the way...just some ideas...

The coin through a can is a great routine and is totaly impromptu. The performer borrows a coin, a drink can, has the spec sign the coin, and the performer puts it through the can!
