ADVERTISING - YELLOW PAGES?

Postby dat8962 » Aug 5th, '06, 00:40

This post is aimed at those who are working magicians...........

Do any of you advertise in Yellow Pages or on Yell.com?

if so, could you let me know how you find both of these servides as I'm surrently interested in taking out an ad.

I've spoken to a couple of people who swear by Yellow Pages but I'd like a wider opinion. Any advice, guidance etc. before I commit to £30 per month will be most appreciated.

The Yellow Pages recently put an add saying:

On average for every 1 pound invested generated 60 pounds in profits*

This is roughly what it said but I am sure the figures are correct but I don't know what the * links to.

Hope this is some help

Thanks for that - problem is that they wanted £640 for an advert on Yell.com and in the printed directory.

That's £38,400 in my reckoning

I wouldn't. There's so much stuff in the yellow pages that chances are you won't even get noticed. But I could be wrong.

Ads

... also the problem is that, as soon as you get any kind of listing, you get bombarded with cold calls for goods and services you neither want nor need.

I see your point Keymaster  It's not a problem if it delivers but £640 is a big chance to take in one hit.

There's a fair few magicians in the printed book but very very few in Yell.

I'm going for another avenue
