Where is a good place to get this. Can it be bought at a local store?

Magictricks.co.uk sell this stuff for £1.75 a box. Lasts forever as well!

Please note, forever just means a rather long time. I've had mine for several months now and still have loads left. UIt's really good stuff, so you can use the same piece over and over and over again

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

Don't think so... The ash on arm effect is does not require much special "magician stuff".

For some reason, I've got 3 pots of magician's wax lol. I never use them. I really should start and work on Spun! :D

Magicians Wax

Postby Allen Tipton » Jun 3rd, '06, 18:01

:) You must be careful when discussing wax. There are TWO types. hard, which is the normal stuff and soft. I think it's the latter used for hard surfaces as ceilings! The hard stuff!! is used for anchoring thread, cards to cards etc.
Ashes on The Arm is best done with Ash Pen trick (from JB magic), Costs £16 but you have a supply for several hundred performances. There is also a method given to make it appear on a spectators hand (NO stooges)
There is a recent improved version with I think, a dvd, but i can't remember its title.
Then, if you want the real stuff, there's 'Stigmata' when it appears in 'blood'
As kids we all used soap to create the 'invisible' image. This is found in 'Every Boy's Magic Book.' I first came across it in the Magic Section of ' 101 Things A Boy Can Make' ;a book, published by Foulsham, bought for me by an aunt in 1943. Just a year after I took up conjuring.

I'd remove that if I were you, I think that counts as revealing. Anyway, if you can't find magician's wax, Beeswax works just as good and is avalible at most local drug stores.

I find a block of beeswax a lot better than the stuff from magictricks.co.uk, if you mean the white one that comes in the small plastic box as I found their one didnt always rub off a card properly. With beesswax i found it rubbed off a lot easier without leaving any residue behind. All you need to do with your beeswax if it get a bit hard is to cut a small bit off with a knife before your performance, warm it and 'knead' it with you fingers a bit, and it should be fine.

I never realized there was two types and have realized now that I've got hold of the hard stuff and I agreeing it's more for anchoring when working with IT, but I still am yet too try it out with card to ceiling but I assume it's too hard, cheers allen maybe i'll try blue tac

I have to agree. A few months back I got some free magicians wax with an order I made, Sticky wax I think it was called and came in a block wrapped in paper. I once was made to look rather silly when I tried to use this for card to ceiling as it refused to stick to the ceiling.

On the other hand Michael Ammar's wax is great for this. I did card to ceiling in a pub 2 years ago and it's still up there now. Ben Crouch Tavern, Wells St. London if you want to check it out...lol
