Spikes Thru Balloon - Mak - Beginner - Help!

Postby raymondj40 » Aug 31st, '06, 11:37

As a relative beginner to this type of entertainment, I am trying to start off with relatively easy tricks, for children, and have recently purchased the Spikes Thru Balloon trick by Mak.

The main problem I am encountering is trying to find a type of balloon which is suitable for the trick, since the tube is approx 3" in diameter, and have tried a variety of balloons with mixed results in terms of appearance and ease of use with regard to the length and diameter of the balloons in question

Can anyone help me here as to which type of balloons would be best suited for this trick

Thanks

RJ

what you need is a rather big, good quality (thick) white balloon (that way every one can see it, and also in a big balloon you can leave some of it un-inflated and in that manner make it easier for you to pierce it without the risk of actually popping it)
The most important thing is to heavily lubricate the spike before doing the trick; you can do it as a gag of cleaning the spike, or just have it lubricated already before the show.

That's about it, the rest is just knowing how to do the trick I guess^^

Thanks for that and I know roughly the size of balloons I would need, and was possibly looking for direction with regard to perhaps using some of the modelling ballons or similar, since some of those seem to be about the right size - i.e. 321Q, or 646Q, and was looking for some guidance rather than keep buying different sizes of balloons until I found what I was looking for
