Hello,

I hope you lot can help me with this. I looked via the search box and couldn't really find any topics or answers to this question.

I have a raven-type gimmick called an Ultrapull which I'm very happy with and only cost me £4! However, it on works with 1p's and 2p's really as they're manufactured from steel predominantly since 20 or so years now.

Without giving too much away, i am looking to vanish a card with it. I have a nice little trick which includes vanishing, card manipulation, card changes, and a predicting card but I'm having problems vanishing a standard joker from a bicycle deck.

I need to shim it in some way but in a very unobvious an discreet fashion. What is the best way to do this? Bearing in mind it might sit on a volunteer's hand, as if i put it on my own hand i can easily tuck a 2p coin discreetly underneath it for the 'attraction'.

Any ideas on ways to shim a card without destroying it?

Cheers,

Bunf

Nothingupmysleeve.co.uk has shimmed cards but Seige is battening down the hatches in Cuba until 13th September, so the Card Collection is probably the best bet.

you can just go buy one for very little coin..??

or get shim wire.

PS The date of introduction of the 'steel' coins was 1992/3 so work on 1994 onwards to be on the safe side.

How exactly do i 'shim' the card though. As in simple instructions?

I'm asking as my trick is to pull a deck out of the card box with a weird looking voodo doll joker on the top. I then comment on the weird joker and need to make it disappear without any suspicion. I was going to use my home made Raven style gimmick which is why i need the joker to be shimmed but i;ve no idea where to start.

It has to be this specific joker too and buying a new shimmed card isn't an option. I may also need to vanish it off a volunteer's hand so can't tuck a 2p coin or something under the card as i could if i was doing it off my own hand. Or, is there any other easy way to make a card vanish with the one hand as i will have the deck held in the palm of one hand too so will only really have the use of the one hand. Any suggestions????

As this needs to be explicit, perhaps replies could be by PM to avoid exposure - thanks.
