Hi, I've been trying to order some bits and obs from this site. They state free shipping for the UK. But when I checkout there is no free shipping option just a foreign shipping charge of eleven bucks! I have emailed them with this and have had no helpful reply. Anyone had this?

Everytime I add to cart it goes to penguinmagic.com?

Confused......

You need to go to the European (UK) site. When you compile your order you should see that there is no shipping charge in the cart

Yeah, I'm on the UK site but when I put anything in my cart or checkout it goes to the .com version.

Then when I checkout it will only let me do a foreign shipment charge and no other.......weird eeh!

There seems to be some problems with penguinmagic.co.uk at the moment. I have used penguinmagic.com/europe with some success though.

I would put down my experience with penguinmagic europe but I'm not sure whether it would be liabel or slander so I'll refrain I think.
Needless to say I will never use them again and would heartily recommend others do the same.

Just got this from Penguin

I just can't get a response from Penguin these days.....

I order a DVD in early September which was the art of card splitting. It was in sotck but didn't ship. I sent an email and it took a few days but got a reply saying that it was out of stock as someone ordered at the very same time and that it would follow shortly. In early October I phoned and got through after 2 days of trying. I was told that they would order and ship one to me from the US.

I now can;t get in touch with Penguin. Their 0800 number is unobtainable and their 01753 number continuously goes to answer phone. I've left messages for 2 weeks and no-one calls back. I've also sent four emails, none of which have been answered or even acknowledged, yet my online account is saying that the item has been shipped and my bank statement proves that I've paid for it.

Does anyone know what's going on at Penguin?

I know some email address dont work with them, or take longer to get through to them.
Plus they are doing a lot of work lately with a new site in progress, and new items, updates, and so many new people emailing them. They are real busy.

thier forum has just exploded with new people, many of them very annoying. And with the holidays comming up, business is increasing.

Glad to hear your order went through!

Personally I have had a very bad experience from penguin as probably a few others here so I do not buy from them any more.

A year ago (they might have changed by now) I bought a B2-Bomber from them, sent them an e-mail that it was faulty...I exchanged 3 e-mails which ended when they told me to just "tape it back together".

*End of venting*

So, what did CUPS make you order?

This is only a long term vague possibility but if there's no sign of resolving these issues in the next 12 weeks or so and they're selling at Blackpool in February you could join the queue of angry customers 'having a word' or two.

After another set of emails to Penguin UK without response, I've sent a complaint to Penguin in the US last night.

Received a polite and apologetic response this afternoon saying that they will ship a copy from the US today.

Let's see how long it takes to arrive but I'm still wondering what's wrong with the UK branch as there was no explanation.
