So, as of right now i don't know how to do a single magic trick, but I really, really want to learn. I was watchin TV the other day, and this guy named david blaine was freakin floating in the air. I was like how in the world did he do that. I was amazed, and I want to learn how to do the same thing.

How long do you think it's going to take for me to be able to float like that guy, and does anyone know how to do it. It's got to be some kind of jumping or something.

Furthermore, do you guys have any suggestions on where I should start learning tricks. I want to learn the MIND BLOWING tricks. Help me out here.

I really want to levitate like that guy. Do you guys realize how many women I can pick up if i can freakin fly.

Its in a book called "Tricks to freak out your friends" by Pete Firman

It's known as the Balducci Levitation and can be found in several books, videos, and DVDs but I can assure you NO ONE will tell you how ANYTHING works here. This is a non-exposure site that actually believes in the preservation and protection of magic not exploitation and illeagle distribution of materials.

It's obvious you didn't read the rules so you might want to correct that little problem so you can understand what's up and how we may be able to help you IF you decide to become an actual student of magic vs. someone just wanting to now how a trick works.

As I just mentioned to someone else, there are STICKY posts in most every section here that can point you to the books and other resources that will help you develope your understanding and skills in magic. If you have an honest interest you might want to take some baby steps and begin with telling us about yourself (go to the introduction section) then check out those STICKY threads... yuo might actually learn something

all i can tell you is the one where he lifts his arms up and he goes like 2-3 ft in the air is a camera trick (sorry if thats exposure)

Pls dont learn that levitating trick.Its too common now. The david blaine kind is not worth. I rather u learn better tricks and learn from DVDs and books.

Ah.... I remember the old days when you just had to pull a fluffy bunny out of a hat to have them falling at your feet! Now they expect you to fly around the room before you can even get past first base... How times change!

I hope that Smoothe1 dont mix up the real Balducci levitation and the "alternative" levitation David Blaine does for the 2 ladies.... U all know what I mean.

ok it blatent exposure but what the hey you going to have to pay to learn the Balducci Levitation, don't bother to get the knocked off instructions they always miss out two vital point's you need to make it good.

ok for davids version of the levitation you will need:-
1) tv sponsered crew.
2) a crane.
3) at least two shill's.
4) an audience and a balducci.

ok you do item 4 then when everyones gone home edit in 1,2 and 3.
how long will it take you, well that depends on your finances and wether your willing to sleep with the producer.

ps i apologise for the blatent exposure but i feel mr blain's had enough money from us for the balducci without letting on you need a few extras, next he'll be trying to flog us an ID as an amasing prediction generating power deck..... erm ok too late.

ok, first off david blaine's levitation is t.v magic he uses wires... all he does in everyone of his levitation he'll get there reactions.. then when he acctuly does his levitations he just show a sleeve or somthing... then he shoes the reactions... it the same with every one of his levitation i think he uses x levitation once.
I would go for king levitation by ellusionist probly the best reactions...

I'm going to be controversial here and say that other than playing up their reactions for the cameras, no one really believes you're floating. I'd go as far as saying that specs see a good trick and wonder how you managed it, that's all.

I'm seriously beginning to see levitations as simple stunts now, and not as magical effects at all. Maybe I should have posted this in the moaning thread, in fact.
