Magic shop visit

Postby Johnny Wizz » Oct 9th, '06, 09:31

On Friday morning I was in Bournemouth with some spare time so I searched out Mike Danatas Magic Studio and paid it a visit.

I am not a markting or advertising man but I just have to say what a brilliant place it is, and what a great guy Mike is!

I went in to browse and to buy a new ID. I came out with that, a Michael Ammar cups and balls DVD and a kids changing silks trick. I had a demonstration of Nija Rings (beat the CUPS impulse to buy on the spot but it will be my next months addition) and a card trick. I didn't feel that I was being subjected to any kind of hard sell, it was just a good experience. The shop itself is an absolute Alladins cave, I could easilly have spent a fortune in there.

This was my first experience of a magic shop, I buy over the Internet normally. It is too far away from me to be a regular visitor (my bank manager and my wife will both be pleased about that!) but I will be going back any time I am in the area and I can thoroughly recommend a vist to anyone who can get there.

It was a pleasure to do business!

Oh, Johnny welcome to the wonderful (and often expensive) world of brick and mortar magic shops. It's even harder to resist things when they show them to you firsthand!

Personally I think everytime I walk in a magic shop, I trigger their silent "will buy almost anything" alarm.

Which reminds me....I need to make a quick trip today...

Next time you're planning on coming to Bournemouth, give me the nod and I'll see if I can meet you there

or anyone else for that matter

Oh i agree totally!

I made my first ever trip to a real magic shop on the weekend. I spent hours in there (and lots of money obviously).

Just seeing all these things which i'd read about on the internet and considered ordering, right there in front of me! ("I COULD BUY THIS NOW!!","AND NOT HAVE TO WAIT 1-2 WORKING DAYS!!")

Having things shown and demonstrated to you before you buy, so you know what you're getting makes a hell of a difference too.
