My ID is turning into a regular Bicycle deck because of regular use. Any suggestions to spruce it back up? PM please as I dont want to expose. If you can post though, go right ahead.

keep an eye out for roughing fluid.

or just buy a new ID. I haven't used mine in ages. How do you usually use it? I've been using it as outs when I screw up.

There are a number of posts for ways to make a new ID....they all involve roughing fluid/spray, or a spray material that is available at almost any craft shop......search around the forum and you will find the answer you need.

The general consensus seems to be that it is not worth the headache of making new ones, so many just appear to buy new ones.....I am going to give it a try and make a couple (because I use it to close my performances in restuarants or street work) I want to ensure that I have a couple in various backs......for example bicycle red back, blue back, and black back......so I can have a deck that matches the colour of the one I was using to perform my regular effects with.

While this is a great idea......I do think that utilizing it only in this fashion is going to result in you neglecting a stunning effect in itself....get it out and use it! You won't be dissappointed!!

To be honest, I have been neglecting my gaffe decks. Unfortunately, I don't get to perform as often as I'd like. It's not a bad idea incorporating it to some of my routines. Thanks for suggestion.

's only worthwhile making an ew ID if you want to use a deck that isn;t available already made up as one.

Example, I wanted to use a green backed bicycle deck so made one up. It actually works out cheaper to buy the deck already made up if you shop around and of course you save on the time.

Personally, I avoid roughening fluids in preference for a spray as it generally gives you a more even coating.

Forgive me for being ignorant if I am... but which is better RF or RP??

My deck was supplied with RP which I seem to have struggled with as some stay together others don't!!

Using the spray is all about technique and getting an even coat. Obvioulsy you don't want to ruin a deck of cards or waste the spray.

Get a tin of furniture polish and practice spraying it over a table etc. until you get the hand of using an aerosol. My may also get some brownie points from the missus too

My IDs get some hammer because I use them quite a bit in different ways. When I need to refresh one, I lay it out on a board in several lines and spray across the lines. If you start to the left of a line and spray across and off the right end I get good, even coverage. I leave them for 5 mins or so and reassemble the deck.

I'm assuming then the preference is for spray and not powders??
