First public appearance!

Postby trickyricky » Nov 20th, '06, 04:37

Tonight, i went out un-prepared. A deck and a sharpie is all i had with me (because they are always in my pockets). I went to a works party of 200 people. With these two things i performed continuously throughout the evening without ruining anything at all. Even to fellow magicians that i know. They had no clue. I feel as if tonight has been the most productive..... inspiring....... best night of my magic life!

I have been doing magic for less than 2 years, from a background that has no real magical influence. And now, i am in complete shock at the reactions that i can produce.

I write this in an attempt to inspire new up-and-coming magicians that may not feel that what they are practicing is worth it. My advice is to keep on trying and, one day, it will all be worth it.

And i also hope that fellow members will also feel compelled to write a few words about their first magicial experiences as well. Think of it as an.....

ARCHIVE OF EXPERIENCE!!

I was born with Multiple Personality Disorder. Luckily, they are all me, they just dont always get along...

It's a great feeling, isn't it. I remember I actually felt quite guilty for a while after my first time. When you do something simple and it gets a great reaction it seems disproportionate somehow.

Thanks for the post trickyricky... really helped! Sometimes I think to myself "will it work? will people like it?"... great to hear it... it seem that what now is simple and obvious to us isn't for most of people, after all..
