my suggestion, like most, would be the Royal Road to Card Magic, although it is not a DVD

Would that be the $60 version, or is there a less expensive option I haven't yet seen?

it's like 5 DVDs long. $60 is a bargain!
if you want something that's not just all cards how about Banachek's - PSI series? might be worth looking up

Custom R&S decks made to specification - PM me for details

Partly true, it's not a DVD, it's 5 DVDs.

...and look out!
DON'T buy the 4 DVD version with the same name... it's rubbish!
Buy the 5 DVD version by R. Paul Wilson!

Quick note, just for my own peace of mind, I wasn't complaining about the price - I saw the very impressive list of slights/tricks/handlings and was rather convinced that the price was well worth it. However, at the current time I'm strapped for cash and the holidays are quick approaching.

I've just seen the suggestion thrown around so often I thought there might be an abbreviated version that covered the material that more visual or difficult to gleam from the book.

This one is on my "to buy" list, I just have to wait for my bank account to catch up.

Born to Perform is very good - however, I feel that's geared more towards a beginner (though I still love it, and go back to it often). If you've worked with Royal Road for a while, you might not require the basic sleights that Born to Perform teaches.

If you have a good foundation of basic skills, then perhaps it's time for you to invest in some "effects-oriented" dvds. The Michael Ammar Easy to Master Card Miracle series is an excellent choice in this case.

There's also these:

John Guastaferro's Brainstorm DVD set - excellent
Joe Rindfleisch's (sp?) Extreme Card Magic set - I haven't seen it, yet but I've heard great things

For Street magic stuff - I'd highly recommend Gregory Wilson's On the Spot, Sankey's Anytime Anywhere and Front Row Sankey.

There are many, MANY more - but there's a few of my ideas. I'll send more if I think of them.
