Alex Rose, the infamous apparent conman(boy?) who created a ruckus with his http://talkmagic.co.uk/ftopic13660.php pathetic x levitation, claimed that he did 200 shows* in about a year of doing magic. I'm not all that great at math (Just the top of my class), but doesn't this mean he's done more than a show every other day? He doesn't seem totally incompetant, since he knows about and supposedly created versions of the center tear. (Any reviews up?).

I was just wondering if anyone's ever heard of him before he made a negative name for himself.

Ya i knew him, and hes always been an ass, egotistical, etc.

He lied about the amount of shows, a guy i know talked to his mom. He has lied about many things.
The X-lev was just the final nail in his coffin.

I live in NY, and I never heard his name before the x levitation fiasco. No one I've spoken to at Tannen's has heard of him, either.

It's a real shame that kids like him give a bad name to all the kids out there that are genuine.

I tell a lot of lies often fantastical I once conviced a bloke who ran a kebab shop I worked in the British Embassy in Istanball..My eldest brother often relates this story to people who i can easly lie and he was telling his firends of this. The said friend came out with the line "Well he is a magician whats magic if it isnt lying at a fundermental part of magic?"


Allthough i would never lie to make money. Unlike Little Alex Rose I can imagine when he grows up he would make a very good con artist. A

In the magicial community maybe, maybe not we are a close knit bunch and inform each other of such cons.... now if some one new to magic and didnt have a forum like this to warn of such things i can see how it would give a bad name to our art.
