David Blaine Into Room 101?

Postby Tomo » Jan 12th, '07, 13:00

Marcus Brigstock is going to try to send David Blaine into Room 101 tonight at 10pm on BBC2. Should be worth a giggle.

is it Blaine's new stunt then? to sit in the box for a week or something whilst having other objects dropped on his head? can you commit an anvil to room 101?

whose that big boggle-eyed irishman thats occasionally funny - keeps going "eeeeerm" to signify a punchline (not naughty norton - he's more of a overbearing sinister uncle)? didnt he put magic into room 101? so many question....

He'll probably escape then do a 2 hour 'Special' about it consisting mainly of clips from his old shows and 2 minutes of new stuff which will be copied and exposed on Youtube all of 5 minutes later. (Boy, am I in grumpy mood today or what?…..)

Dara O'brien? Yeah, he's the culprit. Mind you, I think he had the caveat of "bad" magicians.

Actually I rather like David Blaine when he does his magic and when he stops trying to be all moody and enigmatic or doing daft stunts. In one of the earlier Blaine Bashing threads here I mentioned that on one of his TV shows, right at the end, there were some 'outtake' type shots where he just doubled up in with laughter at something one of the sepcs had said or done and he came across then as a very human and likeable sort of chap. It was only for a few moments but like a ray of unexpected sunshine through murky clouds.

Can I put wands, cups, balls, sponge, silks, doves and rabbits in there whilst he's at it?

*run and hide*

OK doves and rabbits i can understand . BUT SPONGES? are you mad? Every well almost Every Magician has a sponge routine. Even that Blaine chap. Instead of learning 1001 card slights I think you should buy a pack of four Goshmans and sit down with them and buy your self. Words Greatest magic Sponge balls.

Cups and balls too if its good enough for Vernon......

Oh and stick Blaine in 101

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

I hate Blaine. I hate being compared to Blaine, I hate the sound of his name..

He was fantastic for his first show.. ( stunts aside ) but then he went down in my estimation

Ill throw him in head first tied in a knots by me and if he escapes ill give him credit where credits due.. if he can fix the crack in his skull with his won tongue alone

Im having a really bad day today, worst day this whole year so far and I managed to give Blaine a rather mild bashing

Absolutely Mandrake, he is a fine magician. But all this mystical bullplop is a pain in the derriere. There is nothing wrong with being a serious magician, but he really needs to wind his neck in a wee bit.

Yet again another person (Brigstock) who's attitude towards magic is somewhat eschew. I guess it just shows though what magic he must have been exposed to if he feels the point of magic is to "sit there and puzzle over how it was done...there are better things to think about".

Indeed. He turns out to be one of those people who deliberately try to see everything through cynically tinted glasses, no matter what's presented to him - but I bet he'd be upset if anyone heckled his act. The good news is all that cheese will probably kill him early

I agree about the hating to be compared to him. But it is only natural as he is the more known close-up magicians with laymen. Though, I have to say the one time I enjoyed this comparison was at a party in London. The nice bloke said... "Your like David Blaine but with personality!"

I asked him if I could use it in my adverts. But I don't think I will. As much as I may not like his style, I still respect him as a magician.
