Devil vs. Messiah coin vanish -is Sankey being ripped off?

Postby Atomo » Jan 18th, '07, 19:35

Im a huge fan of coin vanishes, infact a coin vainish geek might be a fairer description, so naturally i was excited about the Devil Coin vanish which has been reviewed on this site.(http://www.downloadmagic.com/cointricks ... vanish.htm ) But after watching the clip it reminded me alot of Jay Sankeys wonderful 'Messiah coin vanish'. I would not be suprised if the method was exactly the same, and did not feel compelled to make a purchase, ( which as a CUPS sufferer is very rare).

It s difficult to write a question like this without it coming across as somone fishing for exposure, but i assure you thats not my aim. Really im just concerned that everyones favourite lunatic, Jay Sankey, is having his tricks sold off as instant downloads under someonelses name.

Does anyone own both of these vanishes, and if so, Is the one and only 'sleight of hand superstar' Jay Sankey being ripped off?

i hesitate to find out by buying the devil coin vanish, (even for 3 quid) because im not sure if its original or not.

TalkMagic i turn to you for answers.

sincerely Atomo

The "Messiah Coin Vanish" can be found in Bobo, which was published before Sankey was born.

I don't think Sankey is being ripped off, at all. In fact, I think the ones who are really being ripped off are the guys that buy all these instant downloads.

It's done without double sided tape and called, "Smart Coin Trick" under the heading "Quick Tricks."

Basic same methodology.
